MS gym program exercise in a chair

MS gym program exercise in a chair

Can someone please explain this weather to me? One day I’m bundled in my sweatshirt putting on the heat. The next day I’m opening windows overheating at night under my blankets. No joke!!! I overheated last night in my bedroom. It made for a very long night. I had a super difficult time getting back into my bed after one of my bathroom trips that I really contemplated sleeping in my chair. I slept with my fan on once again….

Patient don’t get a say in treatment course with insurance

Patient don’t get a say in treatment course with insurance

After I spent hours on the phone getting my van taken care of, they finally came to tow it to a place on Long Island instead of New Jersey. I was mentally exhausted. As I am coming back into my condo the phone is ringing. It was my infusion place. The authorization for Rituxan isn’t going to be overnight and my infusion scheduled for Wednesday was canceled. All I could do was laugh. One problem solved another one starts. This…

Infusion coming up the switch from Ocrevus to Rituxan

Infusion coming up the switch from Ocrevus to Rituxan

So my infusion is coming up and I’m waiting on authorization. I’m switching back to Rituxan hopefully because I personally feel slightly safer on the drug. However I can only imagine what this will do with the authorization of the drug. Ironically my last infusion my pharmacy had Rituxan on the approved list but not Ocrevus. It took my a while to get Ocrevus approved. Now that I’m switching again to a drug that is technically not approved for MS…

Back to Forks over Knives, plant based eating

Back to Forks over Knives, plant based eating

I tried Keto for a few months and it did work for me at first. I did take off weight but eating like that wasn’t something I could do on a long term basis. As I got sick of the food, I started eating bad. I just don’t like cheese and butter all that much after not eating it for over a year. At first it was good like a new treat but that wore off quickly. I did like…

No Ocrevus infusion today

No Ocrevus infusion today

Shocking I know. This time there is a portion of my error involved. I told them last month my secondary insurance was Aetna, technically it is not. It is only secondary for certain things otherwise my secondary is Medicaid. What I’m not in error about is once again the infusion place waited until last minute to verify insurance. Since the information was wrong, they needed more notes from my doctors and couldn’t get approval done in time to order the…

New Multiple Sclerosis Culprit Identified-B-cells and T-cells in MS Medical News Today

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/323006.php New multiple sclerosis culprit identified It is still unclear what causes multiple sclerosis, but new research closes in on the faulty immune system mechanisms involved in the development of this condition. New research has identified another type of immune cell that may play a role in MS. Multiple sclerosis (MS), which is an autoimmune disease, causes the immune system to mistakenly attack myelin. Myelin is the substance that coats axons, which are the projections that allow neurons to connect…

After I got diagnosed with MS what I’d change

After I got diagnosed with MS what I’d change

I guess this is kind of like a part two to yesterday’s blog before I was diagnosed. https://multipleexperiences.org/2018/06/25/before-i-had-multiple-sclerosis/ What I’m not going to write here is about my attack in 2014 that really disabled me. What I am going to say is what I would change if I could go back. Again hindsight is 20/20 but this is for the newly diagnosed and people more on the early side of their onset of multiple sclerosis. When your first diagnosed, it’s…

Self-love day 6- Doctors, doctors and more doctors

Self-love day 6- Doctors, doctors and more doctors

I’ve been eating right, exercising and going to the doctor as needed. A few weeks ago I saw my specialist for MS. I’ve been seeing a podiatrist for the fungus and the swelling blisters on my toes. Today I’m off to the vascular doctor to discuss the swelling in the extremities and see if I can get any answer to that. Then I have to make the decision if I want to go to the endocrinologist and go further to…

Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis – OMS

Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis – OMS

I need to thank Jen from Tripping through Treacle’s http://trippingthroughtreacle.com/ Who reminded me of this. If you haven’t followed my blog, for almost a year I became vegan. I did it for health reasons. I wanted to see if it made any difference in my multiple sclerosis. The real reason I ended up stopping is because for some reason I started putting on weight. I ended up joining weight watchers and at the time being vegan was very difficult to…
