Never Give Up

Never Give Up

I am still making shocking improvements. I walked my hallway in PT. I haven’t done that since last year. https://multipleexperiences.org/2021/06/18/walking-again/. I at one point had a goal to not use the wheelchair in the condo anymore. As much as I would like to believe this is still an attainable goal, it is far down on my goal list. I was amazed I have been able to walk again at all. It took almost 30 minutes to walk roughly 50 feet,…

One day at a time

One day at a time

I am still here, barely. I got home from the rehab last Wednesday. It has been rough!! I fell 4 times within the first 12 hours. My strength was significantly worse than I realized. My legs couldn’t hold me up. I realized they didn’t have the strength to push from a seated position to a stand. I was bed bound. This dark cloud came over my world. I refused to talk to anyone. I cried. I am always fighting multiple…

Remaining hopeful it will help the spasticity

Remaining hopeful it will help the spasticity

Inconclusive. My bladder test was inconclusive. They said that the sample contained bacteria in their that couldn’t have come from the urine alone. I was thrilled I got urine in the cup. That was a challenge in itself for someone with multiple sclerosis and bladder issues. I even was able to use the little handy wipe they give you before you give the sample. I was so proud of myself that day. So much for that gold star. Thank goodness…

A possible reason for this spasticity

A possible reason for this spasticity

I might have put it all together. A few months ago I treated myself for a possible bladder infection/UTI. Maybe not the smartest thing, but I did. I suspected I had a bladder infection and I had some antibiotics. They weren’t the normal antibiotics usually prescribed for any type of infection in that area, but according to google, it would work. I took them for a total of 5 days. The normal prescription, for the antibiotic I had , is…

Monday morning again…

Monday morning again…

We arrived at Monday once again. I feel like I am on a fast track through these days, weeks, months and years. That is saying something considering most of my days are spent in front of the TV. I am far from highly stimulated most days. Yet the days are going fast. I know I’ve said this many times before. I’m sorry I’m repeating myself. I just find it amazing sometimes. I got to spend a few hours with my…

The replacement aid

The replacement aid

I’m doing better with the spasticity. I was never a person who thought Baclofen really did anything. I’ve taken 10mg a day, as preventative, for as long as I can remember. Well increasing it to 20mg twice a day has definitely did something. The constant dull ache I’ve had in my lower back has almost completely subsided. I am able to bend my legs to get up more often than not now. I’m not cured but doing much better. I…

Another fall to face the truth

Another fall to face the truth

Well another episode started off an otherwise lovely evening. My mom and stepdad were coming over for dinner and to watch Yellowstone. We missed last week’s episode so we were in for a double feature. It was just about 4:00 when I hung up with my mother. I was getting up to feed my puppies. I didn’t transfer to my wheelchair well. I ended up sliding down to the floor. When I got up I would have taken the increase…

My neurologist visit

My neurologist visit

Well yesterday was a visit to my neurologist. I want to thank my pseudo uncle for driving my van. I am not so comfortable driving on the parkways anymore. My first words to my neurologist were “did you miss me?” I have been coming to see him for almost 24 years. I just turned 50, that is almost 1/2 my life. He has been on my multiple sclerosis journey from day 1. He was the neurologist that told me I…

Spasticity update and sleep improvement

Spasticity update and sleep improvement

First I need to give an update on my Bionic Gym and spasticity experiment. In a quick summary I was paying close attention to how my spasticity was after I used my Gym. My blogs during the week discussed it a little further. https://multipleexperiences.org/2021/11/15/bionic-gym-helping-with-spasticity-my-experiment/ and https://multipleexperiences.org/2021/11/17/time-for-a-hair-color-change/. Please remember this is MY experience with Bionic Gym. https://bionicgym.com/?rfsn=6087517.2f5823 The company makes no claims to help with neurological issues. That being said, 100% it made a difference and that’s exactly what I was…

Bionic Gym helping with Spasticity, my experiment

Bionic Gym helping with Spasticity, my experiment

I am doing a test this week. I think the Bionic Gym is helping with the spasticity. I have been using it later in the day on Monday and Wednesday because of occupational therapy. I am going to adjust the timing of that. I started with Sunday. I normally don’t do any exercise. It is my one day off. It is also the most difficult day for me with spasticity. I figured I would just do one hour at a…
