My Saturday morning ritual

My Saturday morning ritual

It seems like I’m gonna have a new ritual on Saturdays: work out then put on F1 practice runs while blogging. I am so happy I got my money back from the F1 TV pro upgrade because this dope over here gets all the races on ESPN either live or on demand anyway. I could just watch my F2 races at some other point during the week with my basic F1 TV plan. I like to see the up and…

Hidden profile on plenty of fish what I learned

Hidden profile on plenty of fish what I learned

I made the decision to hide my profile for the few summer months. I get too overheated being out and about in the summer heat. It just isn’t the right time for me. I realized a few things in the short time I was active both about myself and others. There are people out there that could have interest in someone in a wheelchair. The interest varies I’m sure but I did get contacted by many people with my main…

Wrong season to try to date

Wrong season to try to date

Summer is a great season. It’s many people’s favorite. Being outside at the beach, on a boat, or at a pool basking under the sun’s warmth. However when you have multiple sclerosis, or any neurological disease, chances are it is not. As that temperature rises outside all of the MS symptoms act up making it a difficult season. This is called the Uhthoff Phenomenon. Uhthoff’s phenomenon (also known as Uhthoff’s syndrome, Uhthoff’s sign, and Uhthoff’s symptom) is the worsening of neurologic symptoms in multiple sclerosis (MS) and…

Working out with MS

Working out with MS

Overheated and under slept. Not a good combo to wake up with. I shut my AC off last night because I was cold. Of course it was ridiculously humid when I got out of bed. I had hours to turn it back on. I was up between the hours of 4-6AM and the time I feel back to sleep between 6-8 weren’t restful. Needless to say I woke up behind the MS eight ball already dragging my feet and having…

I’m getting hot

I’m getting hot

It’s getting hot outside. The summer is coming and my hibernation will begin. Most people can’t wait for the nice weather and the glorious heat of the summer, I’m not that person. I have multiple sclerosis and I am heat intolerant. Heat or high humidity can make many people with multiple sclerosis (MS) experience a temporary worsening of their symptoms. Doctors believe that this occurs because heat causes nerves (whose myelin covering has been destroyed from MS) to conduct electrical signals even less efficiently….

Proud to be with the spirit junkies

Proud to be with the spirit junkies

Well I can certainly say today’s content is much lighter than yesterday’s. We are discussing marketing and the online presence. Hey, I got that. I write a blog. It’s all about website and blog related information. Right up my alley, no tears. Yet I walked out of the meeting pretty cranky. The room we used was so hot. Every time a window was opened, some one closed it minutes later. Here I am in a very light shirt overheating. Overheating…

Steps are not my friend but my friends are

Steps are not my friend but my friends are

I went to my friends house yesterday for an impromptu get together for the Fourth of July. It was extremely hot which I know is difficult for me with MS. However, I really wanted to go at least for a little while. I would’ve been fine in the heat if it wasn’t for my bladder. For some reason yesterday, I had to pee every hour. Not that that’s the worst thing in the world, except she has steps. I had…

And so it begins…heat and MS

And so it begins…heat and MS

There is no winning when it comes to temperatures anymore for me. I can’t handle the extreme cold and I can’t handle the extreme heat. It’s exactly 8:22 as I am writing my blog today and I have all my windows open. Currently the temperature is 65° out going up to 73°. my temperature in my house is showing 70°. That’s a little on the warm side, we’ll see what happens as the day progresses. Where I am sure I…

Partly sunny humid Florida

Partly sunny humid Florida

It’s a little warm in Florida. Great for most people, not so much for this MS patient. I purposely come down in January or early February because the weather is great. 70 something by day 60 something by night. Not this trip. It’s 80 degrees and a little humid down here. At night it’s a cooling 78. I realized no way could I do my Beachbody exercise program. The house is too hot and outside is too hot. I said…

Difficulty with the extreme cold and MS

Difficulty with the extreme cold and MS

Last week it in New York it was in the single digits before you add it in the wind factor. At that point it was the negative digits. I went out to eat at a restaurant with my family. The restaurant had open windows on all sides and even though the heat was turned up, it just couldn’t compete with the cold outside. The restaurant was freezing. We were there with cousins we haven’t seen in a while so it…
