My daughter is home again

My daughter is home again

Morning. Happy Monday!!! It’s freezing in NY. I’m actually wearing a sweatshirt for the third time this entire winter. I am still cold. I might even turn on my bedroom heater for the first time ALL winter. Spring officially begins in like a week. Just goes to show you, you never know with Mother Nature. My older sister lives upstate is expecting like 2 feet of snow tonight. OMG!!! Crazy. I guess this is one of those days I’m happy…

My daughter growing up beautifully

My daughter growing up beautifully

I’m happy to report that my vertigo has passed. I did speak to my neurologist who said that migraines can cause vertigo. I have had migraines for well over 15 years and never had that experience but whatever. My aunt also suffers from migraines. She had a spell of vertigo last year for the first time in her life. Her neurologist told her the same thing. I really didn’t think it was a new multiple sclerosis symptom. I really haven’t…

Happy Birthday Mikayla

Happy Birthday Mikayla

This is my daughter’s 23rd birthday. It is also the first year she isn’t home for her birthday. My beautiful baby girl, as she will always be, is now living 6 hours away. She has begun her adult life. She is starting to find her way around this crazy world. This is the first year I don’t get the chance to kiss her face on the day she was born. I’ve been there for every other year to wish her…

Wishing my daughter all the best in the world ❤️

Wishing my daughter all the best in the world ❤️

It is official, my daughter moved out yesterday. Unfortunately, she didn’t move locally so she won’t be popping over anytime. Her trips home will have to be planned with a plane, train or car. Everyone asked me all week if I was ok, and I really was. This morning saying goodbye tears flowed because of pride. I am just so proud of her. She has had to work very hard to get to this point. Life certainly hasn’t been easy…

My beautiful girl moving this week

My beautiful girl moving this week

This was a beautiful weekend. I love the smell of the air with all the windows open. I had a perfect weekend. It didn’t involve much of anything but it just felt relaxing. No falls, no drama, no frustration and no aggravation. It was just nice. I like the quiet and lately I’ve needed the downtime. I had a beautiful view. I had my favorite companions. It was a good weekend. My daughter is moving in 4 days. She is…

Family weekend and a quiet week

Family weekend and a quiet week

Good morning. Happy Monday. I had a nice weekend myself, lots of family. I started with my stepmom coming in from Florida. She came Friday afternoon with my younger sister. It was a really nice visit. I missed her hugs. I haven’t seen her in probably 2 years because of Covid. My little sister I see every few weeks, which makes me happy. It is hard to believe a year ago she was living in San Francisco. She hasn’t been…

Happy Birthday Mikayla

Another year has gone by and my daughter is a year older. 22 years old, do you remember being 22? Part of me feels like it was yesterday and the other part feels that it was so long ago. It was 27 years ago to be exact. She is 22 which is the age I met my husband. Five years from now I’d be giving birth to her. It’s crazy to think that she is starting her life. She graduated…

My daughter graduating college

My daughter graduating college

My daughter is graduating from college on Tuesday. I am so proud of her. She has not had an easy road especially when it came to school. She was born with a progressive hearing loss called EVAS, enlarged vestibular aqueduct syndrome. In basic terms, her ear was formed with deformities. This enlarged tube allowed fluid to leak, eventually destroying the hairs on the ears nerve where sound travels. I’ve written a few blogs about her but the following is the…

Reason to love the cold rainy day

Reason to love the cold rainy day

It is a rainy, cold and miserable day here in New York. The kind of day you want to sit on the couch wrapped up in a blanket and watch Netflix from morning to night. The kind of day you pray you have nothing to do, nowhere to be, and no other obligations. The kind of day I am remotely grateful that I have multiple sclerosis and have nothing to do, nowhere to be and no other obligations. I…
