My Vitamin D too low for MS

My Vitamin D too low for MS

I’m in my doctors office right now. My regular doctor this time. I had to repeat blood work from 3 months ago. In that blood test my cholesterol was higher than normal and my Vitamin D was too low. Vitamin D in a patient with multiple sclerosis. This is probably the one link they are certain of with multiple sclerosis is Vitamin D and how that is important. If you don’t know to name a few cases…

A study conducted by researchers at the University of Oxford and another conducted at the New Jersey Medical School have suggested that maintaining adequate levels of vitamin D may have a protective effect and lower the risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS).

Another study conducted at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and others suggest that for people who already have MS, vitamin D may lessen the frequency and severity of their symptoms. More research is needed to assess these findings.

There is tons of data on the web on Vitamin D and MS an easy google search. It made sense that when my numbers were low I needed to increase the amount I take daily, which at the time was around 1000mg and repeat the test. So here I am starving at 11:30 waiting to see the doctor. I now take a 5000mg pill each day so we will see how the number turns out. Wish me luck.
